OPHTHALMOLOGICAL EXAMINATION

Dr. Marco Abbondanza  works in the field of ophthalmology since 1980, his firm belief is that  scientific knowledge and technical expertise must be associated  with a sound  doctor-patient relationship to be effective.
In fact, a patient, has many special and individual visual problems, that must be addressed individually in order to be effective.
Dr. Abbondanza also believes that patients must be assisted to understand  the nature of their ophthalmic problems, he believes that this knowledge helps patients to  deal better with ophthalmic examinations and treatments. Ophthalmologic examinations in his eye clinic consist of the following steps:
The first encounter, which is usually a telephone conversation or email for information leading to an appointment, the patient will note the individual care received by the staff.
On arrival in the clinic, the administrative staff will  receive the patient and will gather the patients personal data and will address any individual problems, at this point,  appointments and treatments  will be programmed creating a personalized treatment schedule.
The patient will then meet the medical staff, which consists of a specialist Doctor  in ophthalmology and a clinical orthoptist.
The first step will be gathering of clinical history and a first series of  examinations that are very important  diagnostic tests, including visual examination, visual field examination, orthoptic examination, and other specialist tests and examinations that will be performed to evaluate the patients global visual performance.
At this point, the patient will be visited by Dr. Abbondanza. The first part of the meeting consists of a detailed conversation. Dr Abbondanza will explain and discuss the nature of the patients disease and answer any individual questions and clarify any doubts regarding their medical condition.
This type of approach creates a sound relationship with the patient based on informed cooperation of the patient  for the resolution of  his\her problems.
In the next stage, Dr. Abbondanza will perform the following  instrumental examinations:

1) Biomicroscopy for corneal evaluation and evaluation of the anterior segment,

2) Corneal Topography,

3) Endothelial microscopy,

4)Measurement of ocular length using Monodimensional A-Scan sonography.

In addition to the above, in relation to the specific disease, Dr. Abbondanza will perform a number of personalized instrumental examinations as necessary.

During all stages of the examination Dr. Abbondanza follows the goal to create a sound doctor-patient relationship aimed at the resolution of the patients specific requests and problems...
